Does anyone, who has PD getting current (under EB2- I/C) during Aug/Sept. got their EAD Renewed, and cards received. ?? If so, what's your EAD-Renewal Appln Date / RD and Cards Received Date.
I suspect, USCIS is NOT issuing EAD Renewals, to probable Current PD holders, any more. :D hopefully. This is a good Sign, if true. Does anybody agree with me.. Let's Party out. :)

Great news: IV core is supporting the flower campaign - see this thread (http://immigrationvoice.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6191). :)
We have until tonight to place in the orders so that the flowers can be delivered on Tuesday.
Everyone who kept the faith - thanks and lets continue sending emails or calling people to let them know about it.
People who said that they will send the flowers only if IV core supports it - please send flowers asap.

Those who are seeing the 'Welcome Notice malied' status have ADIT mentioned in the Case Status online. There is NOTHING to be done at your end except waiting for the cards once your case is approved. USCIS will NOT approve a case unless the FP is complete - refer to the 485 adjudicator field manual.
Just like their legacy IT systems, USCIS standard email messages are also in the same league and have not been updated. Wait for the cards and contact USCIS only if you dont receive them in a reasonable amount of time - read two weeks from case approval date.

If skill bill is passed in the same form as it is Americans will be alarmed seeing the inflow based on exemption of US based Master degree and STEM. Not only to Americans it is threat for current H1s and green card holders as well. The problem is those who have money in India can get admission in USA MS degree in any non standard college(I do not think INS can evaluate whether it is standard or not). So atleast 4 times of current MS students will come and they will get h1(I think Ms people has exemption in quota) thro Desi consultants by paying Money and get green card immeditely. This will defeat the purpose of skill bill itself. And also India so many people are doing MSC they can get gc easily here(As we know Indians or anyone will use loopholes to come here and get gc). If immigration is increased so much then it will impact all kinds of exsisting people. I think there should be control in number of h1s and also green cards. I am clear that both H1 and green card numbers should be increased but blanket exemption should not be given any category especially for H1. There were a situation on 2000 and 2001 lot of people returned India because of too much supply and Americans were angry with immigrants at that time especially H1 because they were laid off.
So basically increase of immigration should be based on supply and demand . The purpose of Labour certification is to verify whether any american is rejected for that job. But that is now just formal and real test is not done(it is not possible to do it. If they do it it will take years to clear). I think if they double number of gcs the retrogession issue will be resolved for atleast another 5 years
What standards are you talking about? All the universities in the US are standard and all are non-standard at the same time. There are no legally accepted ways to define what is standard. Also, the GMAT or GRE or TOEFL are not necessarily indicators of admitting brilliant students. Several ABET accredited departments in engineering schools do not require GRE scores! And yet they are ABET accredited. So this argument makes little sense. (Somehow I think, we've discussed this before :))
As purgan pointed out, the market forces have made this a great country. Even if you have an MS or Ph.D., but if you have no job, you are not going to get a GC; but that has always been the case. I don't know that you can get a job by paying a desi consultant 20K. If that is happening, the law will take corrective action, as it invariably does in this country fortunately. So there is no reason to worry about that provision in the SKIL bill.
But I do agree that it may be easier to get something like doubling the number of GCs temporarily, rather than a blanket provision, passed. (That is like increasing the queue capacity during rush hour and bringing it back to normal levels when the traffic intensity reduces.) But if we increase the H1B quota and only double the number of GCs, we will have an intractable situation.

Lets not waste our energy on those who don't believe USCIS has done anything wrong or are content with the current state of immigration....lets focus on getting more and more support to this movement.
Ohh..BTW..i had another experience that I would like to share....Today, I went to renew my Driver's license which is expiring next week. I have already applied for H1-B extension. They did not renew my DL and sent it for immigration verification to SAVE(Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements). This process takes up to 3 months and till that time I have to stay without a DL. Worst part, when i went for my DL renewal last time..they did the same and I had to go thru the hardship without a DL for 3 months. I live alone..so imagine how I will live without driving here in US. I have been in US for 6 years and have 6 years of clean driving and immigration history.
I have another friend who went thru the same last year, his condition was even worse as his wife was pregnant at that time. The poor guy had to ask his friends for favors and hire cabs to take his wife to hospital for 3 months.
All of the above, because of the broken immigration system. If we don't raise a voice now,...when will we !!!!!

The EB-2 category for Indian nationals has retrogressed four years and will be set at January 1, 2000 for applications received beginning June 1st. If you are from China, the backlog is five years less - February 15, 2005. And if you are from any other country in the world, there is no wait at all. I am really appalled that Congress allows such an unjust distribution methodology to remain the law. No country is permitted to claim more than 7% of the numbers in a green card category. I will ask you in a specific manner .Will you guys help me?
1. Till now I worked on contract as a SAP Consultant with BIG 4 companies and piled up a lot of responsbilities. I got my EAD and one of the BIG wants me to join as Associate Partner- SAP. Can I accept it on EAD?
2.Till now my salary is USD 65,000+Bonus.With bonus my salary is in the range of 120K -140K. But now the BIG 5 offers me a salary in the range of USD 180K -200K.
Can I accept the 'offer' based on the above points and use my EAD?
Or is it a violation of AOS rules?
Appreciate if you throw light on this specific case

If you expect the IV core to dedicate it's time JUST for a particular secction of people, then you need to justify that demand.
In your opinion, EB3 is a LOWLY category as compared to EB2. So it is not enough that Nurses feed from it and just about EVERYONE else feeds from it. To top it off, overflow from eb1 goes FIRST to eb2 and then (and almost NEVER) to eb3. SO Eb2 gets a fair chunk of the greed cards, and over and above that you now want the IV core to further drop everything else and help JUST eb2 out? And who should make this demand? None other than someone who is trying to BREAK the community up into Eb2 vs Eb3.

Hello All,
Talked to my lawyer today about the checks; they have been encashed for myself and my spouse on 9/4. My RN starts with SRC.
My I-140 was approved from Texas and my AOS/485 was mailed on july 2nd and arrived on july 3rd to NSC.
Just a curious question for those you have already received their RN#. When checking the case status it displays "I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS "...will this message change when EAD has been approved and mailed?

I received my receipts from the lawyer this morning. July 2nd applicaiton to NSC, transfered to TSC, labour approved TSC in Aug 2006.

My checks cashed. Mailed I485-EB2, EAD, AP on June 29th, reached USCIS - NSC on July 2nd 10:25 am by Fedex. Checks cashed on 8/3 - Still not be able to see the back side of the image for RD etc. My I-140 was approved last year from TSC.
I was expecting my case to be transfered rom NSC to TSC!!?? also NO lud on I-140 case so far.
