I am july 2 filer
I believe 180 days are over around 31 dec 2007 for using AC21
I am planning to quit my job and go to india for max 3 mnths
I have a job offer and they are ready to hire me from 1 april 2008
what precautions should i take so i dont have problems while coming back

I would take 3 months of vacation (With written vacation approval from this date to that date)at present employer ( Even with "No Pay"), come back from India, THEN QUIT and then join new employer.

For your Information India's GDP is 3 trillion USD compare to Mexico 1 trillion USD. Taking into account GDP of EU India ranks 5th in GDP higher than any indivisual European nation where as Mexico ranks 13th. This is as per CIA worldfactbook. So where did you get the number

To begin with, this is not the place for me to explain to you the details of difference between Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) GDP (that you quote) and the market exchange rate GDP which I quoted. But since you raised the subject, PPP GDP is adjusted to accomodate for different inflation and consumption rates in different countries. Without the PPT adjustment, India's GDP is equal to Mexico's, even though India has 11 times the population of Mexico. The reason India comes in 4th with the PPP adjustment in the world is because the ruppee is undervalued and Indians have a purchasing power that is 4 times smaller than Mexicans. So, to humor you and use your method of calculation, the Per Capita GDP (PPP) Of India is $3,344 in 2006 and Mexico's is $12,886. "Where are all the Mexican doctores, computer scientists, economists and professors?" you ask. The answer is: They are IN MEXICO making huge salaries, when the Indian ones have to come here because their salaries in India don't give them enough money to eat. Why aren't all the construction workers and lawn workers in the U.S. Indian? Because they cannot affor the airfare. The Mexicans just walk accross the border. Any you know what? All those Indian Professors at Harvard etc are teaching class to all those rich Mexican kids. Get your facts straight before you confront me and make fun of my MBA (which I got in the U.S. incidentally, not Mexico, but if I had wanted I could have gotten a top 20 MBA back home). Dear Members
For those of you joining us late, here is some info about this thread.
1. This is to do our least part to the core IV Team for their selfless sacrifice, for all of us getting the benefits of legal immigration. Note that , Aman Kapoor , the co-founder of IV has done his part by sacrificing $64,000/- from his own personal funds towards the administrative costs of IV. Yes you read it right , it is $64,000/- We come to know from his co-worker that he has sold his house towards running this show for us.
2. We have not yet figured out a way to reimburse these costs as IV does not yet have administrative costs part of the expenditure allocation, as we understand it. So instead of a wait and watch, we decided to go ahead with collecting the pledge from the members on the amount they are putting forth for reimbursing the amount. Once we come up with a strategy(members we look for your suggestions on how to get this done, please add your comments) we will instruct the members pledged to pay out.
So do not pay it directly to the IV core funds, yet.
Please help us spread the message about this thread in other threads by copy and pasting the following in other threads too.

I think it is about time for IV to think and make $25/month minimum fee for accessing this site. IV needs money to lobby to sort GC mess out. At the same time we need serious people ready to volunteer and donate. That is the only way out. We do not need people discussing SRK and Vonage on this site. We might reduce website hits by doing this but at least we will have ust have serious members who actually want to volunteer and work for IV.

I know man....i called them today and refered to their latest update ....and they bluntly ask to wait for atleast 90 days before they can provide any info...

I'm in very similar situation. My dates were available for June as well. My HR/Attorneys did this long and painful bureaucratic process. We have an internal website which says that my case was �filed� on Jun-29th. Don�t know what the fuck that means. Whether it was sent on 29th or received on 29th? Couldn�t get HR to answer.Don�t have direct communication lines with Attorneys... If it�s sent on 29th, does USCIS take packages on Saturday or Sunday? If they take only on Monday, will they throw it out because it reached in July? Oh well, just have to wait and see...
exactly the same situation as mine. Attorney was an A#%$%OLE.. gave all documentation on first day of june, and the sucker filed it on June29th reaching USCIS on july 2nd.

You can download the form from SSA website and fill the information for each applicant and take it to the SSA office. You can get rid of 'authorized to work with INS permit only' label of your SS card by using the same form and get a new card.

Good luck..I filed everything on the 14th of Aug; for 485 I think the fees was 395; for EAD 180 and AP 170. all together 1490 for 2...1165 seems a little weird because first of all 1165 is not divisible by 2 :)); I guess based on old fee structure, 485 is 325 plus 70 biometric fee

I wish and pray that God gives strength to you and your family in this difficult situation. And as fellow IV'ns have mentioned, Prayer and Faith in Life/Almighty can do wonders. By the attitude in your note, I do feel you have that ... and somehow I have a feeling things will be fine for you and your family.
As suggested by many people, if possible, please do get a 2nd opinion from a renowned doctor in India. And do start Yoga/Pranayam. Meditation and proper breathing exercise have helped folks with very serious conditions and these are surely worth trying.
And for your GC, I would second the suggestions of writing to senator and USCIS.
Your family should be your reason to continue to have faith and NOT give up...

Bottom line is: Unless demand for EB-3 ROW subsides (or it becomes current leaving substantial numbers for spillover) India EB-2 will always be cap subjected to 3200 or so visas every year. The sad part is catching up with the demand for EB-3 ROW is a moving target and thus EB-2 India might NEVER qualify for spillovers. I hope I am proved wrong by someone who has more insight.
My analysis is minimally, if at all, dependent on India, China, ROW, ...
Offcourse I don't know all laws. I will believe DOS/USCIS URLs that explain how VB dates are set.

what would happen at that time?

I applied for the first time in 2001, and then in 2005 (due to relocation) and ended up at the backlog center. Another relocation and now my PD is March 2007, and these recent wannabes want Perm approved in 1 month, I-140 premium processing in few days and then onto I-485 which should be current with no retrogression. Amen !! When do you want the USCIS to bend over for you?
